Your role will involve deploying category strategies, managing spend effectively, overseeing supplier relationships, and driving performance improvements to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) possible. Additionally, you will provide expertise on the 3PM market landscape and ensure the security of the supply chain to meet business needs. You will join a company that is committed to achieving real sustainability, as AkzoNobel is consistently rated as one of the top employers in The Netherlands.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy regional sourcing strategies or contribute to global strategies definition as the regional category representative.
  • Support all NPI, in/outsourcing projects, and transfers in line with sourcing decisions, AN strategy, and Procurement processes.
  • Select suppliers in alignment with managers and key stakeholders, negotiate, and improve QDCIS for the portfolio/supplier base.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure mutually beneficial collaboration at all organizational levels.
  • Negotiate best possible conditions for suppliers, develop pricelist models, and oversee their approval and implementation.
  • Handle contract management including development, approval, signing, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Serve as a key interface between Procurement, Sourcing, RD&I, Sales & Marketing, Planning, Manufacturing, and Commercialization.
  • Develop a pipeline of TCO reduction projects per AN Financial objectives and drive project execution.
  • Provide regional 3PM market expertise, map supplier opportunities for improved sourcing decisions, and translate market developments into new opportunities.
  • Manage supply risk and support resolution of escalated supply issues. Represent or support representation of the EMEA category in regional cross-functional forums and programs (e.g., IBP, NPI, CM management, regional procurement programs, and reviews).

What do you need to have to be successful in this role?

  • 5 years in a procurement, supply chain, purchasing, or sourcing function with relevant experience in negotiating and managing suppliers.
  • Bachelor Degree in Science, Engineering or Business management. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong MS Office, MRP (Eg. SAP) and/or Advanced procurement management applications (Eg. CLM, Coupa)
  • Experience in deploying sourcing strategies and integrating into supplier strategies is a plus.
  • Must have a strong command and understanding of fundamental analytical techniques, and ability to accurately draw conclusions and interpret data. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Proven success in driving supplier cost, quality and delivery performance improvement programs.
  • Demonstrate performance-driven behavior, superior communication, and influencing skills, along with the ability to understand and present detailed information analysis and evaluations.
  • Exhibit problem-solving and action-oriented capabilities, effective stakeholder management, distinctive leadership qualities, creativity, innovation, and an eye for opportunities. Comfortably manage multitasking, conflict, and pressure.
